Henry JOHANSEN Obituary
1930 – 2014
He slipped away from us on October 26, 2014, and has now found his way home. Master Mariner on the BC coast and Captain and owner of the MV Edgewater Fortune. Lovingly remembered by wife Alice and children Lynn, Lee, Laurie, Paul, Norman and Martin (and their respective families). Sorely missed by everyone he touched. Service to be held at Mt. Zion Luthern Church on July 30 at 12:45 p.m. Interment at Fraserview Cemetery. Refreshments to follow at the church.

Hank, you taught me everything I know about running the Engine room, tail gate, Windless, and the many hours spent on the Bridge together. You and your whole family were great friends and will be forever. I miss those great times we spent together, when we tied up the ship after a voyage we had a gin and tonic and went to White Spot for a burger.
Rest in Peace
You didn´t make many mistakes but one I remember was when you said I liked the ship better than you, that was so far from the truth. Ship Mates forever. PS

Captain Hank was an amazing man that was known and respected by so many students that had the wonderful opportunity to be a ship mate on Edgewater. Hank always had time to talk to and teach the kids about his passion on the water. All of our prayers to Alice, Paul, Norm and families. The Edgewater experience will be missed along with the Captain. Fairview and Tom Baines Schools Calgary.

Thank you Hank for giving me my first awesome job aboard the Edgewater Fortune so many years ago. I had the privilege to see how in sync and wonderful your family was while I worked for you in 1984.

Mark and I are very sorry that we were out of the country and unable to attend what we heard was a beautiful service. We'll miss Captain Hank - he was a great man. Our sympathy goes out to the family.
