TAZEWELL, Va. — Henry W. (Roy) Linkous, age 90, of Tazewell, Va., passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, Va., following a brief illness. Born February 14, 1920 at Berwind, W.Va., he was a son of the late Joseph Alexander Linkous and Eliza Ellen Rye Linkous. He served in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Korea. Mr. Linkous was a member of the North Tazewell United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his living wife, Jewell C. Linkous; two sons, Robert L. (Bob) Linkous of Pulaski, Va., Jimmy D. Linkous and wife, Shelby of North Tazewell, Va.; three grandsons, Kevin D. Linkous of Baton Rouge, La., Robert R. (Robby) Linkous and wife, Rae of Tazewell, Va., and Eric Jason Linkous of Charlotte, N.C.; his loving caregiver, Cathy Price of Tazewell, Va.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va., where funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. with the Reverend Gordon McBride officiating.
Graveside services and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Bluefield, Va.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the North Tazewell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 125, North Tazewell, VA 24630.

Jewell, Bob, Jim and family. Sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Linkous. I remember when your mom worked at Berwind Post Office and he would come in and was always smiling.

So sorry to hear of Roy's passing. As I was growing up in Berwind where I was born, I remember Roy very well. Again, I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
