Henry "Guigi" Nelson DARLINGTON - Funeral service for Mr. Henry "Guigi" Nelson of Darling-ton will be 4:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Faith Memorial Gardens directed by Mit-chell-Josey Funeral Home Inc., Darlington. Mr. Nelson died Friday, August 21st at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born in New York a son of the late Joseph and Eunice Gandy Nelson. He received his formal education in the Darlington County public schools. He served his country in the US Army and was honorable discharged. He was employed at Harlem Hospital, NY as LPN until he retired. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was married to the late Hattie McCoy Nelson and later married, Henrietta Pauley-Nelson. Survivors include: his wife, Henrietta Pauley-Nel-son of the home; a son, Henry (Elena) Nelson, Jr. of Amsterdam, NY; one brother, Joseph Nelson of New York, NY; 7 grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Bertha Gandy Stanley of Darling-ton; several step-children. He was preceded in death by a son, Derrick Claude Nelson. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 307 Jessamine Street, Darlington.
