Henry Rivest Obituary
Rivest was born in Bristol on Oct. 22, 1932 the son of Eugene and Lena Mary (Defosses) Rivest. He was raised in Bristol and resided there most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1962. He formerly worked for New England Telephone Co. for 10 years and was later a self-employed electrician in the area.
Rivest was a member of the Bristol American Legion and the Bristol Knights of Columbus. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Bristol.
Family members include his four children: Gary Rivest of Weare; Peter Rivest of Tucson, AZ; Susan Greger of Wanakee, WI; and Sandra Wagner of Verona, WI; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Jane Rivest of Bristol and Alice Watkins of Greenville, NC, a brother, Raymond Rivest of Keene, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Rivest, and a sister, Julia Rivest Dow.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Chapel, Bristol. Interment with military honors will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
There are no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rivest may be made to NH Catholic Charities, PO Box 686, Manchester, NH 03105-0686.
Thibault-Neun Funeral Home (www.neunfuneralhomes.com) in Franklin is assisting with arrangements.
