Efigenia Guzman

Efigenia Guzman "Tita Geña" (nee Sanchez) Efigenia Guzman, age 78, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Friday, October 8, 2010 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 21, 1932, in Villa Juarez, S.L.P, Mexico and lived in Joliet most of her life. Efigenia is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Zeferino Guzman. Loving mother of Porfirio (Obdulia), Ramiro (Ana), Felipe (Antonia), J. Carmen (Ninfa), Evelia (Salvador) Diaz, Rodolfo (Xochitl), Noel (Socorro), Zeferino, Jr. (Leticia), Teresa (Luis) Tijerina and Ricardo. Sweetly known as "Tita" by her cherished 27 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by eight siblings, Maria Efigenia, Francisco, Gregoria, Alejandrina, Maclovia, Miguel, Aurelio and Hilaro. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. "Tita" was a noble, caring, kind-hearted woman who will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her parent, J. Asencion Sanchez Guerrero and Julia Moreno de Sanchez and siblings Jacinta, Domingo, Carmen and Socorro. A celebration of Tita's life will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Church, 205 East Jackson St., Joliet, from 2:00pm to 10:00 pm. No funeral home visitation. You will be forever in our hearts, Tita! Arrangements entrusted to:
