My wedding year was 1982

I was honored to have you as a member of my wedding party in 1092 and to receive wors of wisdom from our few talks as well as observing your life.

To the family, many, many friends, and fans to one of the first Black athlete from Pittsburgh to medal at the Olympics. Mr. Herb Douglas was a track and field star who won a bronze medal in the long jump at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. We will miss Mr. Herb Douglas' presence and his many contributions to his community and the Olympics track and field games. May the love and the special memory you shared and cherish with him show just how much your life was touched by him. May you find comfort in your wealth of fond memories together with Mr. Herb Douglas. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Herb Douglas. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.

Mr. Herb Douglas and his wife Mrs. Minerva have lived here at Park Plaza Condominiums in Philadelphia for many many years. He was family, friends, and an inspiration to so many of us. We loved him and honored him by renaming our block from Ford Rd. to "Herb Douglas Way". As a community, we mourn the loss of one of our own. To his family, ee offer our heartfelt condolences and have posted this memorial in our lobby. Hopefully, there will be a live stream where we can attend his funeral services. God's love, comfort, and blessings from the residents of Park Plaza Condominiums, Philadephia, PA.

R.I.P. Mr Herb

Herb Douglas helped change my career trajectory with these simple words : "Honey you are just getting started." May he rest in peace.

I only got to speak over the phone at work with Mr. Douglas, but they were phone calls that I always looked forward to. Those calls will be missed. What a sweet, amazing man he was. Sending my sympathies to his family.
