Herbert Brown Obituary
Herb is survived by his wife, RuthAnn; daughter Rachel; and sons Bert and Kris, and numerous extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Herb was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Upper Darby/Drexel Hill PA, until he joined the United States Navy, which he enjoyed for numerous years. One of Herb's greatest naval achievements is working the flight deck onboard the USS Nimitz. During Herb's naval career, Herb met his wife of almost 36 years, RuthAnn, in Naples, Italy.
Herb and RuthAnn raised their family in the heart of Salt Lake City, and has worked a variety of jobs, including being a phlebotomist, and a hotel night auditor.
Herb was an avid fan of all sports, but his heart will always cheer the loudest for his Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers, and his home team, University of Utah Utes. Herb would always be the first to support little league teams to college teams.
A lover of jokes, and making people laugh, Herb always tried to make friends with everyone, sharing jokes and laughs to everyone along his way. Herb would always try to help those in need whenever he could, helping family, friends and coworkers, whenever he could.
Herb's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible staff at IPS Mortuary and Crematory.
A memorial service for Herb will take place at 11:00 am on August 12, 2023 at The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints Church building located at 225 West 500 North, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84103
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.

I knew Herb and his family attending church. He became my friend very quickly as we shared our previous experiences. Herb was in leadership positions, and he took his callings very seriously. I was blessed to share leadership positions in the Bishopric and learned how to perform many duties with Herb's help. When I was called as Bishop I called Herb as one of my counselors.
Over the years we still valued our friendship. Herb is my eternal friend and I hope to see him soon.

Dear Ruth Ann,

Herb was one of the greatest people I have ever met. While he was in Sprinfield we worked together on a special project for several weeks. After work, we would have dinner and some of the most wonderful conversations....and a whole Lotta laughs!! Oh the laughs, I will miss those most of all my dear friend. We had you for while, your family had you most and God has you now.

Herb and I were volunteer firemen with the Garrettford- Drexel Hill Fire Co. When the outside siren sounded we used to run from our houses, and race each other to the fire house..Up on graduation from High School, we both took the Civil Service test for Postman..He lucked out, but I didn't li left for college in Rhode Island
