How he loved my grandmother! She called him Herby and they were best friends. I hope you meet her in heaven! Rip and say hi to babe for me

Godspeed Herbert!

My sincere condolences to the loss of Herbert. What a great person he was. My first Christmas card of the season was from Herb of which he never forgot. I used to circulate his nomination papers and although I now belong to the Republican party, Herb never in my opinion,let party politics get in the way of common sense business which was very admirable during his tenure as U.S. Senator. One of the greatest memories I have of Herb is from 16 June 2010 when he was a dignitary at the Infantry Welcome Home Parade hosted by the City of Stevens Point and Portage County,WI of which 3000 troops marched to the Piffiner Pioneer Park on the Wisconsin River near downtown Stevens Point. I was videotaping the event on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Second Street. After the event, I went with my mother Myrna to Politos Pizza in downtown Stevens Point for a slice of pizza and cinnamon bites which are good. Herb Kohl walks into the restaurant and helps himself to a cinnamon bite or two. We thought this was pretty admirable that he came over to us. My mother now has dementia but she felt so proud that Herb came and ate with us and she told all of her friends about that lunch at Politos Pizza in downtown Stevens Point. Herbert always responded back to you when he was a senator when you would call and or write to him something which lacks nowadays. Herbert was somewhat instrumental in procurement of funds for the completion of the U.S 10 freeway/expressway from Appleton, WI to Marshfield, WI and the extension of I-39 from Rockford, IL to Wausau, WI. Herbert sure made Wisconsin a better place to live by supporting and retaining business and entertainment venues. Herbert, thank you for the memories! You are a legend that will be missed! May God be with you Mr Kohl. Your were a Great owner of The Milwaukee Bucks! They won Their First NBA Title in 1971 the year I was Born!
