I knew Herb through an Abraham Lincoln discussion forum. While we never met, I always enjoyed seeing what he would contribute to conversations. Herb will be missed by his family and friends in the Lincoln community.

I knew Herb through a Lincoln discussion forum. He was full of enthusiasm, and shared that with others. He was a giving person, an example to follow. In the short and limited way I knew him, he gained my respect and friendship. You left me some good memories. You have left a wonderful legacy for others to be proud of and follow.

Mr. Swingle was my absolute favorite teacher at Olympia H.S. He made history interesting, fun and a great "break" during the school day. My deepest condolences to his family.
