October 12, 2019

I'm Kraig Kilby, longtime trombonist for Etta James and
also a close friend of the late Herman Roscoe Ernest.

Almost 3 months to the day after Herman passed, I
suffered a stroke ( June7, 2011) that I'm still rehabbing
to this day. I just recently found this website and
wanted to leave this message.

Joyce, I miss both you and Herman very often and
I will be trying to contact you soon. Love you and
take care.

The world is a much duller place without your beaming smile. You had a talent for making everyone feel special and you are sorely missed. May God bless you and your family always.

Herman, I will truly miss you. Your brother, Ronald and I played together in "The Louisiana Purchase",for more than 20 years. I have known and respected you for just as many years. I remember when you came to Toronto, and played with us when Warner and Brennan had to attend their mother's fineral. You were also my neighbor on Lake Willow. I will always remember and respect you, and your family.
I hope to see you and Sam Henry in the after-life.
Love you my brother,

He will be missed by every musician who has ever had the pleasure to grove to his beat. I can hear him now, saying It's Got To Be Funky. His passion for great music, fine cloths, and fast cars I will always remember. Much Love for our Fallin' Musician and Lovin' Friend. Family,

Once again, we're faced with the passing of a loved one...a position in which we found ourselves, less than a year ago, with my sister, Linda...now, with Herman.

For as frequently as we go through this, one would think the process lessens, in terms of heartache; but it gets no easier, does it? Yet, in our hearts, we understand the circle of life and with those loved ones, who have given their hearts to Jesus, Christ, we know we'll see them again...but facing the transitioning, really doesn't get any better.

I know Aunt Bea's heart is broken, as is Joyce's, Dodi's, Ronnie's and everyone else's. I won't say, "Don't cry...be strong", because now's the time when it's most appropriate, to just LET IT ALL GO; experience the grieving process and let the healing begin. I know we're all hurting right now, but with the passing of time, the pain really does subside.

We will always miss Herman's handsome face; his sweet demeanor and pleasant smile and I do believe that he's in a better place now and really, would not want to return...but instead, would want us to join him, where he is.

So, please comfort one another and pray for each other, that we all will grow stronger in God's word, as we await the second coming of Jesus, Christ. Please know that I am praying for our family, as a whole, even as the peace of God, that surpasses ALL understanding, guards our hearts and minds, through Christ, Jesus.

I love you all!
