Herman William Flottemesch, commonly known as "Bill," age 77, of Dushore, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Manor Care in Williamsport, Pa. with his loving family at his side.

Bill was born in Baltimore City, Md. on Feb. 24, 1938, a son of the late Herman Flottemesch Jr. and Josephine E. Caldwell Langston. He graduated from Kenwood High School in Essex, Md. a member of the class of 1956. He honorably served in the Unites State Army from 1957 until his discharge in 1963. Bill married the former Faith A. Moyer of Middleborough, Md. on Oct. 5, 1957 in the Hope Lutheran Church in Middleborough, Md. Bill worked for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, Md. and retired as a Foreman after 39 years of faithful service.

On May 3, 1996 Bill and his wife retired to the mountains of Dushore, Pa. While living in Sullivan County, Bill was an active member of St. Paul's Church of Christ in Overton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill was a member of the American Legion Loyalsock Post No. 996, Dushore, Pa. and also served on the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. He also has been a faithful Meals on Wheels driver for the last 18 years.

Surviving are his spouse, Faith at home; sons, William Edward (Mary) Flottemesch of Equinox, Pa., Robert Frederick (Kelly) Flottemesch of Laporte, Pa., Bryan David (Mark Walden) Flottemesch of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Hope Lyn (Allen) Deems of Northeast, Md.; brothers, Richard Edward Flottemesch of Candler, N.C., David Robert (Cindy) Langston of Lee, Fla., Thomas Flottemesch of Glendale, Ariz.; brother-in-law, John Lewis Moyer of Middleborough, Md.; sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Moyer of Eustis, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, Robert Jr., Braden, James, Ava Jo, Chasity, Samantha, Madeline, Makala, Joshua, Matthew, Justice, Jayden, Tracy and Derek. Bill is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by a sister, Linda Ruiz and grandson, William Edward Flottemesch Jr.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Dushore American Legion, Route 487, Dushore, Pa., with the Rev. Ronald Dyer, his pastor, officiating.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and join with the family in sharing fellowship in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul's Church of Christ, P.O. Box 284, Dushore, PA 18614.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, Pa.
