What an absolutely extraordinary gentleman--whose courage, wit, faith, and perseverance sustained his family and all of us right until his final moments. We send our love and blessings and prayers to all of the Sandles Family--there are no words which can adequately uplift you now, but may the love and tributes of those who are there with you all in spirit and heart to honor and commemorate him bring you hope and consolation in the coming days and months. May Our Lord grant you His peace and strength and grace. With love from Michael and Patty Lunsford and our family.

Today the world has lost a true hero. I did know and work with him in both the Suffolk County Police Dept. and as a fellow firefighter from Central Islip he will be greatly missed as a protector of our society and even more as a person. May God be with you. My condolences to his family he will always be remembered.
