Herve Turgeon Obituary
He was born on December 26, 1935, in Notre Dame Des Bois, Quebec, the son of Ernest and Rose Aimme (Blais) Turgeon.
On July 1, 1961, he married his wife of 50 years, Helen Fontaine.
Mr. Turgeon moved from Canada to Hartford, Conn., in 1961, relocating to Wallingford in 1969 where he established the Green Mountain Drywall Co. In 1991, he retired from the business, passing it along to his three sons.
He enjoyed travel, softball, baseball, golfing, fishing and hunting. Through his company, he was able to sponsor many of the area sports teams.
Family meant everything to Herve. He held a special place in his heart for his five granddaughters. He very much enjoyed every moment he had to spend with them.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
Mr. Turgeon is survived by his wife; three sons, Robert Turgeon of Rutland, Daniel Turgeon and wife Kathy of Rutland Town and Gilly and his wife Diane of Wallingford; one brother, Edgar Turgeon and wife Lise of L'Acadie, Quebec; two sisters, Claudette Boudreault and husband Jean of Montreal, Quebec, and Carmen Turgeon of Sherbrooke, Quebec; five granddaughters, Danielle, Mary Katherine and Molly, all of Rutland Town, as well as Alyssa and Hannah of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews.
Five brothers predeceased him.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Wallingford-Aldous Funeral Home.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Notre Dame Des Bois, Quebec.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Aldous Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Dear Helen, Bob, Danny & Gilly:
We happened to run across someone last night who subscribes to the Rutland Herald, and she told us about Herve's passing. What a shocker.
Terry and I shared some great times with you and Helen when we lived in Wallingford, and we really appreciated all the help you gave us when we relocated to Barre back in 1986. Sorry we didn't keep in closer touch with the two of you over the past several years. May you rest in peace, my friend.
In addition, our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Helen, and to the rest of your wonderful family during what has to be the most difficult time of your lives. You can rest assured that Herve will be sorely missed, not only by his extended family, but by a good many of his old friends as well.

Helen, Bobby, Danny, Giles, and family,
Words can not express our sadness hearing that our old friend and neighbor, Herve, has passed. He surely will be missed by many! He was always the voice of reason during times like this story that our boys always laugh about when telling: One night we came home and all the neighborhood boys set up a baseball field with lights on the " Turgeon" lawn using lamps from Helen's and our house, and our movie camera light, so they could play night ball! It's a wonder any of them survived to tell the story! Please know we keep you all and your family in our prayers and will treasure all the wonderful memories from the days on Taft Terrace.
