I met Hester in Muskegon through mutual friends. I always admired her willingness to help others, and she certainly left a legacy. She was a smart, generous person. Rest in peace, Hester.

Hester was always such a positive person. She was a major "cheerleader" for First Presbyterian Church's efforts for the Muskegon CROP Hunger walk - and all their mission and hunger projects, and a long-time supporter of Muskegon County Cooperating Churches. She was a patron of many, many of the cultural events here in Muskegon. I have so many fond memories of all her work on behalf of all these projects. I'll miss her and all that enthusiasm and positivity.

I taught with Hester at MLK. We were in University Women. We swam together at the Y pool. I will miss her very much.
