Nana, I miss you so much! I just want to pick up the phone and call you. Thank you for being such a wonderful role model to me. Give Gran a hug and kiss for me. I will be seeing you. I love you.

To the Doles family, Nana was an awesome person who loved everyone. I have many wonderful memories of her & my Mammaw (Vona Phillips) that I will always treasure. Nana was one of my Mammaw's best friends. My Mammaw joined her today and I know they are singing and dancing togather.
Nana, we love you. It is easier to let Mammaw go knowing she is with you.

Fred, Jerry and Marijo Culwell are sorry to be unable to be with the family at this time. We will remember Hetty fondly and be there with you in spirit,if not in body.
Our deepest sympathy.

Miss Hetty was indeed a special gift of God to those of us who had the honor of knowing her. Our Grandmother, Lillian Bass, loved Hetty tremendously -- they worshiped and participated in the Kitchen Band of First Baptist Church of Midfield.

Dear friends, they talked with each other every day until Lillians Death two and a half years ago.
The day after Lillian's death, Hetty called and said, "I can't reach Lillian by phone this morning, I believe she must be having breakfast with Sam (Lillian's deceased husband)." I thought for a long drawn out moment that Hetty was "off her rocker" but then a cute giggle revealed that she knew exactly what she was saying. And we laughed together that indeed Lillian and Sam and other loved ones may indeed be sharing hot biscuits around a family table.

Hetty understood that with Christ, we do have eternal life. I look forward to the day we can share a slice of our Nanna's Pound Cake with Miss Hettie in heaven. Her optimism in the face of trials encourages me still. Thank you God for allowing me the pleasure on knowing Hetty.

Dear Josh and Cody,

I just read about your grandmother's dying and wanted both of you to know that I will be praying for you boys and for your family during these days. It sounds like she was a wonderful person and one whom you can use as an example for your own lives.

Your teacher-friend,
