Hilda Crane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 14, 2013.
BREWER - Heidi M. Crane, 51, passed away peacefully Feb. 7, 2013, fighting cancer to her end, with her husband, Dennis Crane, by her side at their home. She was born Hilda Marie Sirois, Feb. 4, 1962, in Bangor, daughter of the late Bernard D. Sirois Sr. of Old Town and RaeAnn Pelletier of Salem, Mo.

Heidi graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1980, and later attended Beal College. She worked for YMCA, Old Town, and Holiday Inn, Bangor; and was an administrative assistant for David Simonds, esquire, of Bangor for many years. She then worked for Affiliated Transcription until she became disabled, due to her illness. She was a former member of National Association of Legal Secretaries, Penobscot County Legal Secretaries Association and Maine Notaries. She received PLS and ALS certifications. Heidi was a member of Grace Communion International. She enjoyed "Facebooking" and scrapbooking. She also loved being at camp on warm days.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Crane; father-in-law, Harold Crane; brother-in-law, Harold Crane; as well as several aunts and uncles. Heidi is survived by her most adoring husband, Dennis Crane of Brewer; mother, RaeAnn Pelletier of Salem, Mo.; sister, Kathleen Sirois of Salem, Mo.; brother, Dr. Bernard Sirois Jr. and sister-in-law, Dr. Michelle Gray Sirois; nephews, Taylor, Matthew and Joshua Sirois; niece, Rachel Sirois, all of Salem, Mo.; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Brian Letourneau of Boothbay; nephews, Adam Knowles and Spencer Letourneau of Boothbay; uncle, Franklin Sirois and aunt, Verle Sirois, of Old Town; uncle, Kenneth Sirois and aunt, Charlene Sirois, of Old Town; aunt, Connie Sirois of Old Town; aunt, Hilda Pelletier of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Diana Plummer of Glenburn; niece, Jenny Hart of Orrington; nephew, Brian Plummer of Florida; brother-in-law, Steven Crane and sister-in-law, Carlyn Crane, of Westbrook; nephew, Jason Crane of Florida; sister-in-law, Donna Crane of Bangor; brother-in-law, Ronald Crane and wife, Donna, of Bangor; brother-in-law, Daniel Crane of Bangor; sister-in-law, Anita Crane and fiancé, Darrell King; nieces, Ashley and Chelsea of Bangor and Dedham; many cousins; and her special pet, Skye. Heidi wished all who knew her to celebrate her life after she passed. In her words, "I've gone to party with the angels. There will be dancing and singing in heaven today." She made many, many friends. Remember her as you all remember her. She believed in the beauty of the afterlife. And I, her husband, Dennis, believe she is now basking in its glory, with God and all those who are there with her.

A celebration of Heidi's life and death will be held in early summer. An announcement will appear at a later time. For those who wish to remember Heidi in a special way, contributions may be made to Spruce Run, P.O. Box 653, Bangor, ME 04402-0653, Manna Soup Kitchen, 629 Main St., Bangor, ME 04401 or Riverways Pregnancy Center, 909 South Pershing Ave., Salem, MO 65560. To Heidi in Heaven and Family,
I an so saddened to read from Florida that Heidi has passed, not knowing she was even ill. As a young teenager and my next door neighbor, she babysat for me so reliably. She always was so friendly, compassionate, and mature. Seeing her at Sargent Company parties or an occasional store shopping spree, she never hesitated to ask how the family was doing and continued to always send us a Christmas card. She was an angel on earth and We were blessed to have have her in our lives.

Oh Heidi, I am so sad. I'm really going to miss you. I remember the first day we started work at ATS, you made me feel so much more at ease because we weren't in it alone. I am really going to miss your positive attitude and outlook on life, and your SMILE! You had such a contagious smile. Whenever I start to feel bad about myself and my own ordeal with cancer, I think about what a fighter you are...you are truly a warrior and I will never, ever forget you. xxoo
