Señora Hilda; the word “señora elegante” when looked up in the dictionary means elegant lady; elegant, refined, tasteful; graceful; luxurious. That was her.


My family and I had only known Sra. Hilda for a short time and it was during that time that we all took an immediate liking to her; she was kind, thoughtful and full of life. She overflowed with elegance. She immediately not only opened the door to her home, but more importantly the door to her heart. She will be greatly missed by my family and me.

Some Fridays don't end well. Last week, my grandmother passed away. She lived on this planet for more than 8 decades. Throughout her life, no matter her age, she always had a smile on her face; and she always shared this joy with others around her. It's impossible to sum up your love for someone or their life. We are born of this earth, so do we return to it. I love you and miss you Abuela. I know if you were still here, even though it was 3am and you were in pain, you would be offering to make me cafe con leche y pan con mantequilla. I miss you, but I know you are in a better place. Siempre con DIOS.

I will never forget how wonderful a relationship Maria and her mom shared. It was so beautiful to watch how they loved and cared for each other.
Maria would always share special moments about her mom that I wished I could have shared with my mom. I know that you will be missed by family and friends, but most of all by your daughter Maria.
