Hilda Ward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 13, 2010.
WARD , H. Joy (nee Alwood) November 16, 1922 - May 8, 2010 Gone Painting With much sadness, the family of Hilda Joy McEathron Ward (Alwood) announce her peaceful passing at the Foothills Hospital. She was married to the late Henry Ward and to Robert McEathron and was looking forward to seeing her sister Maxine McCagherty once again. Joy is lovingly remembered by her sons Aaron and Nigel McEathron (Patty) and grandsons Ryan, Sean and Chad McEathron, all of Calgary and nieces Sharon Fountain (Wetaskiwin) and Judy McCagherty (New Brunswick). Joy was born in Provost, Alberta and had a fulfilling life as a photographer with RCAF, as an accomplished opera singer and was a talented artist. Her paintings will be cherished and line the walls of our homes for generations to come. Joy had fond memories of the Colonel Belcher Hospital where she worked with veterans in diversion therapy. Thank you to all her friends and staff at Fountains of Mission Retirement Residence for their compassion and support. She loved you all. A celebration of Joy's life will take place on a future date. A private Service and Interment will take place at Queen's Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy can be forwarded to [email protected].
