Hilde Marie Hutchinson (née Wunsch), affectionately known as Moma, passed away on June 27, 2024, in San Marcos, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on March 20, 1947, in Laubach, Germany, Hilde was a beacon of love, strength, and hard work throughout her life.

Hilde was revered for her loving nature and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. She instilled the values of dedication and unconditional love in everyone she met. Hilde's creativity shone brightly, particularly in her gardening and arts and crafts, and she had a special talent for transforming her home to reflect the beauty of each season.

Professionally, Hilde described herself humorously as the CEO of many jobs, with her most cherished roles being a devoted wife and mother. Her commitment to her family was unparalleled, and she provided a warm and nurturing environment that enriched the lives of all those around her.

Hilde worshiped at Kyle United Methodist Church, where her memorial service will be held on July 13, 2024, at 4:00 PM. The church is located at 408 West Lockhart Street, Kyle, Texas.

She is survived by her loving family: sister Ingrid Brann, daughter Susan Pepin; son Steven Hooper; stepson Wayne Hutchinson; daughter-in-law Lynda DePanicis-Hooper; and grandchildren Gina Pepin, Amanda Hooper, Felix Hooper, granddaughter and Alex and Aiden Hutchinson, great grandchildren, and Rachele, and James Hutchinson.
Hilde was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Hutchinson; son, Brian Hooper; her parents, Anna and Karl Wunsch, and grandson Thomas Pepin, along with many brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hilde's memory can be made to [PAWS Shelter of Central Texas](https://pawsshelter.org/), reflecting her love for animals and her compassionate spirit.
Hilde's legacy of love and creativity will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.

Hilde was a phenomenal woman - of beauty and of grace. What good memories we have - from our wedding in October 1988, our time together dancing at the K Supper Club, to the many Fiestas we attended together, to the birthdays we celebrated, and to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays we shared throughout our 38 years of friendship. We will lean on them to remind us of the joy she brought into our lives. Beyond those memories, her legacy is evident in the amazing daughter, sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters she leaves behind - women and men she was undoubtedly and immensely proud of. She will continue to live through them. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, and would like them all to remember that, "a mother is with you always, first in your lifetime, then forever in your memory. We will miss Hilde more than words can convey.

As we both joined the Grief Support group Hilde and I became friends joined by our sadness, each dealing with our loss and seeking to to give and provide support to others. In too short a time Hilde is no longer with us and we all have another loss from which to recover.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Hilde's death. Hilde was such a strong and vibrant lady and always such a joy to spend time with when she visited New Orleans.
Ray and Hilde were always so happy when they were visiting with Brian and Lynda and Hilde's energy was Infectious!
Her sudden loss of Ray and then Brian, I believe, broke her heart beyond that which could be mended. God brought her to be where she truly wanted to be. We will miss her terribly.
My love and sympathy to her family, Lynda, Amanda, Susan, Steven. I am always here for you. God be with you at this very sad time.

I think of Hilde and smile. She brought love and laughter to our grief support group. I love Hilde very much and miss her. Even though my time with her was not long enough, she has left me with great memories that I will not forget. Such a feisty, loving, and precious friend. She is a beautiful daughter of Jesus Christ.

I knew Ray very well, but knew Hilde really only from Ray's descriptions. There was certainly no doubt that Ray cherished Hilde! I was shocked to hear of her unfortunate passing so soon after Ray's death. I am so sorry that you, the family, have had to endure so many hardships in such a short time. I envision Ray and Hilde together again, along with their son Brian, and that makes it a bit better. My condolences to all of you in the Hutchinson family.
