Hildreth Simmons Obituary
Hildreth dedicated her life to education and community service. She attended the innovative Manumit School in Bucks County, Pa, and graduated from Bennington College in 1959
Hildreth had a fulfilling career as a teacher, inspiring countless students at Hollywood High School, Le Conte Middle School in Hollywood and elsewhere.
Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as she actively participated in the United Teachers Los Angeles union, advocating for the rights and well-being of teachers.
A compassionate soul, Hildreth was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist church, and played an integral role in the Beverly Glen neighborhood community.
A devoted animal lover, Hildreth greatly enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife that wandered her canyonside neighborhood.
A celebration of Hildreth's life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church located at 1260 18th St., Santa Monica, CA 90404.
In lieu of flowers, Hildreth's friends kindly request that donations be made in her honor to DonorsChoose.org, an organization dedicated to supporting teachers and their students nationwide.
