Hollis Porter Obituary
He worked as a Firefighter at the Presque Isle Fire Department for many years, retiring in 1987. He owned and operated Fire Extinguisher Services in Presque Isle. Hollis was a member of the Presque Isle Masonic Lodge, The Anah Temple Shrine, The Masonic Lodge and the Presque Isle Elks Club.
He is survived by a son Stephen Porter and his wife Sue and a daughter Rebecca "Becky" Henderson, all of Presque Isle; two sisters Reta Gagnon of Portland and Lila Price of Presque Isle; five grandchildre; Sam, Sarah, Christopher, Gabby and Brittany; 6 great grandchildren Aaron, Alyssa, Katelyn, Stephen, Mary and Brayden; and his special friends Betty Henderson and David Saucier. He was predeceased by his wife Janice (Henderson) Porter in 2005; a son, Samuel in 2003; a sister, Mona Thulin; and a brother, Lester Porter.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104-2396 or The Elks National Foundation 2750 N. Lakeview Ave. Chicago, ILL. 60614.
