In memory of
The Arreola Family
September 13, 2025
Sis. Hollie was our angel, our unspoken hero, being sent to us in our time of need when we were trying to find a nurse that could help our Celeste as we were trying to get sealed in the temple before she passed away.
It was thanks to her willingness and sweet spirit she helped my sister made her wish come true.
We are eternally grateful to her.

Memories of My Sister Hollie
When I think of my sister Hollie, I think of love, patience, and strength. She was always there to listen and even give advice when needed. I inevitably thought to call her when I needed to pour out my worries and frustrations or just share the little details of my day. She had a gift of calming me down and putting things into perspective.
I remember a time when she was just twelve years old and Mom needed to go somewhere overnight. Stu was 10, I was 8, Tyler maybe almost 3 and Chris a baby maybe 3-4 months. Hollie was put in charge quiet a bit but never overnight. I at 8 didn´t like the idea because Chris was hard to feed. She would projectile throw-up if you didn´t do everything just right, but Hollie was sure she could handle it. Mom really trusted her because she was such a capable kid. Everything went well until the night feeding, when Chris started throwing up like crazy. Hollie told me to run to the neighbor to get help (Mom had asked our neighbor Shelby if we could call if needed). All was well after our neighbor helped us. It was at that time I began to see how brave my sister was.
I admired the courage she `showed all throughout her life. She was never afraid to make hard decisions, like what to do when her kids grew up. Becoming a nurse sounded scary and difficult, but I was glad that after all was said and done, I did follow her advice and became a Mother Baby Nurse just like my Big Sister. You might say I was a bit of a copycat. Don´t they say though that trying to follow someone´s example is the best form of a compliment. I did look up to her and tried to learn from her example.
She also gave me other gifts that will last a lifetime. She shared the skills of her hands and her heart. She was self-taught as she became so talented with sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Really anything crafty she was good at. She guided me through learning to sew, knit and crochet. I remember her saying "I can´t believe you haven´t gotten into quilting Laraine. It wasn´t long before she got me hooked on that too. Although I will never be as talented as My sister Hollie, those lessons were more than just learning stitches; they were moments of laughter, guidance, and patience. Every time I pick up a needle or a skein of yarn, I´ll think of her encouraging way of teaching, her way of saying you can do it and the love she stitched into everything she made.
What I will sorely miss most are our long phone calls. The kind that stretched into over an hour, where we laughed, remembered, and shared life together across the miles. Those conversations were a comfort and a joy, and I will always treasure them.
My sister was more than family-she was my teacher, my confidante, and my friend. I will carry her example with me always, and though I miss her deeply, the love she gave me will forever be part of who I am.
Will Miss You So Much Big Sister!
Love you Always, Laraine
