Hollis Thomas Obituary
Allen was born November 30, 1931 in Providence, RI to the late Hollis Maxwell Thomas and Dorothy Fish Thomas. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and was employed as an entomologist with the US Forest Service, retiring with over 35 years of service.
Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Hurdis Thomas; daughter, Amy Louise Johnson and her husband, Robert; sons, Glenn Allen Thomas and his wife, Tricia and Stephen Andrew Thomas and his wife, Carolyn Shields; brothers, Jerald Thomas and Everette Thomas; and three granddaughters, Laurel, Sarah and Mercer Thomas.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Transitions Lifecare Hospice or the SPCA of Wake County.
