Hope Burke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 31, 2024.
Hope Burke passed away January 31, 2024, only after amassing the greatest Squishmallow and Minion collection ever.

Hope Leigh Burke was born July 10, 1987, to Raenette and James. After graduating high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Religious Christian Education from Heritage Baptist Institute at Heritage Baptist Institute at Cleveland Baptist Church with the dream of teaching and making a difference in the lives of children. She is a former member of NorthCoast Baptist Church in Lakewood, Ohio and is a current member of The Potter's House - Christian Fellowship Ministry in Sierra Vista.

Hope fought bravely against Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome among other illnesses and while she may be gone, her soul will always live on. She will always be around, and you can find her in the littlest places. When you see Bob the Minion, zebras, turtles, or dolphins; when you snack on Lifesavers mints (the green bag though!), Reese's, or spaghetti and meatballs (with sweet tea).

Hope's bucket list included wanting to be an inspiration to those around her. She left an impact on every person that she encountered both big and small. She taught everyone how to live big and like tomorrow wasn't guaranteed.

She is preceded in death by her four-legged partners in crime Kaile and Bella. She is survived by her four-legged fur babies Milton and Elsa. Her parents James and Raenette, sisters, Amber (Rory) Turner, Caitlin (Beau) Goins, Jocelyn, and MacKenzie, nieces Amelia and Madelynn Goins and nephews Luka and Graham Turner and Ray, Brian and Beau II Goins.

Interment is private and a memorial service will be a later date.

"I have lived a life full of joy because of God. Please don't mourn because I have gone on to a wonderful place where I am no longer hurting, and I am free. Please instead rejoice that I am free and in a better place. Remember I loved all my family and friends/

Please continue to raise awareness for EDS, so hopefully one day there will be a cure. In luau of flowers, I would rather you make donations to any EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) charity. This disease is what ultimately destroyed my body, but God has renewed it, and I am in a better place with friends that also have passed on. Please consider donating, so that one-day people with EDS don't have to fight so hard just to survive."

We called Hope our Angel on earth.
We attended her bedside in Cleveland hospitals, but she reassured our souls.
She was the most pleasant person I have ever had the privilege to battle Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and POTS and comorbidities, alongside.
My boys learned much from her example and my heart is crushed at losing her soft, sweet spirit here in Cle and in the earthly realm.
We will meet again, my Friend.
Thank you for stirring me awake to say, "Goodbye." You have ALWAYS shown kindness.
