Dear Soldier,
Thank you for volunteering to protect the liberty that cradles America. We cannot repay the debt we owe you for your sacrifice. We can tell others about what you and so many like you have given and continue to give and tell how dear the price freedom is. My father served in the Pacific.

It was absolutely beautiful to see him come home.

Helen, I am so glad that you now have closer of your brother. I will be praying for you and the family .

Thank you for your service, Mr. Hodges. I am so thankful your remains were identified and returned home. My dad survived Pearl Harbor and died in 2000 - I hope you were there to greet him in Heaven :)

What an honor and privilege it is to welcome home our family hero , His sacrifice for our country and family will continue to live on as we continue sharing the stories we have had the privilege of learning from grandma and his siblings as to the truly special and loving person he was! What a joyous celebration for the entire Hodges family and to be partially named after Uncle Howard .

Not long ago I had the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor. I visited the Arizona Memorial where my own relative is entombed. As I looked over the peaceful scene, it was difficult to imagine the carnage, noise and smells that were occurring during the attack and in the days that followed. As a retired Navy Senior Chief let me say to the family - thank you for Howard’s service. To fallen FC1 Hodges, Fair Winds and Following Seas my brother. May the Lord continue to hold you close.

Thank you for giving your life so all of us in this great country could live freely. You are truly a hero.

May he and those preceding him, Rest In Peace. Ever grateful for your service
