Dear Soldier,
Thank you for volunteering to protect the liberty that cradles America. We cannot repay the debt we owe you for your sacrifice. We can tell others about what you and so many like you have given and continue to give and tell how dear the price freedom is. My father served in the Pacific.

So happy to hear you have finally come back home to rest. Thank you so much for the service you gave for our country's freedom. My Daddy, Edward Earl Wall would be so glad to hear you have been found and returned to home soil. He loved all his cousins and we always enjoyed taking Grand Mama to visit with your Mama on Sunday afternoons. To the family that is left, I celebrate with you and am so glad you finally have this closure. God bless you. Alice Cole, Daughter of Earl Wall, Grand Daughter of Lossie McLawhorn Wall.

What an honor and privilege it is to welcome home our family hero , His sacrifice for our country and family will continue to live on as we continue sharing the stories we have had the privilege of learning from grandma and his siblings as to the truly special and loving person he was! What a joyous celebration for the entire Hodges family and to be partially named after Uncle Howard .

Not long ago I had the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor. I visited the Arizona Memorial where my own relative is entombed. As I looked over the peaceful scene, it was difficult to imagine the carnage, noise and smells that were occurring during the attack and in the days that followed. As a retired Navy Senior Chief let me say to the family - thank you for Howard’s service. To fallen FC1 Hodges, Fair Winds and Following Seas my brother. May the Lord continue to hold you close.
