We remember many visits from Howard and Ginny over the years. They were present at my baptism in Riverdale! And they brightened many family Oktoberfest parties on Long Island.I always think of them when I pass Greis Park. We are sorry for your loss, ours too. Best, Linda Laursen Toscano

Our condolences and sympathies to the Greis Family. I was honored to have met Howard on multiple occasions in Holden and elsewhere and found him to be a fascinating person. He was always kind and warm, intelligent, and a joy to talk to. He shared his interesting experiences and I admired him very much for his work ethic. It was clear to me that he was a very special person. Our sympathies and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Fred, I know how much you and your family loved your father. Leslie, I'm truly sorry to read of the passing of your Dad. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

April 26, 2011

Dear Leslie:

I'm writing to express my condolences over the passing of your dad. Howard was a fixture in the town of Holden from the day when he moved to town. I have to admit that I considered him a role model, and his achievements provided incentive for me to head on to college, and to work hard to make my dreams a reality. Howard had class, and always had the time to chat when you bumped into him at the post office or at a town meeting. The world is a lesser place today on account of his passing.

Please know that your family is in my thoughts.

Howard was a powerful man. I learned quite a bit from him at Kinefac as, I am sure, many did. He had a ferocious passion for engineering.

My sympathy and condolences to the family of Howard Greis. I have been a friend and work associate with Howard for over 25+ years. I have never met a man as passionate towards both his family and to his work at Kinefac. I will miss his conversations about life in general at lunch. He is a remarkable man. He will be greatly missed on my future travels to Kinefac.
