In memory of
Robinson Brown
April 6, 2023
Sixty years after we moved in next to Clan Kahn on Humboldt
South, I fully realize that Howard
was and is yet an important
`Bookmark´ in my life.
He was my Minnesota Father for
four years as neighbors and for
decades later.

Our Saturdays in our backyards, talking about everything, shine
brightly and warmly in my memory.....60 years later.

My memories of Howard, as a warm neighbor, as a mentor to me in my late 20s and new to Minnesota, and as a partner in
our 2-man solve-ALL-the-worlds-
problems Saturday backyard
sessions are some of keenest
in my life. Howard and Joyce
treated me like a prince.
I thought they were royalty.

Just found Howard on my computer while trying to get an address for his 94th birthday greeting. We grew up together in Des Moines. My fATHER WAS ALSO a Morris Kahn (his was Kohn). We were confirmed together and "ran" in the same teen age crowd. Write me. Rose Kahn Lorig (age93)

It was in the late 1960's when Howard worked for G&K Laundry and Dry Cleaning that I met him. I was just a teenager working there too part time after school and summers. My most vivid memory of him was when he needed someone to drive him to an appointment on company business. I was assigned the task. I was very nervous driving someone from upper management. But he soon put me at ease with his wit and wisdom. I remember him as a kind, gentile person who had me trying to interpret the meaning of James Taylor's song, Fire And Rain that I was listening to. I cannot remember my response to him but it must have satisfied his inquiry. I will always remember him and keep him in my prayers.

Happily, we spoke via telephone shortly before I came from Phoenix down here to Antigua Guatemala; that was our last conversation. I remember in particular a time some 50 years ago when--I of Protestant Christian heritage but admiring of the Jewish faith--we two paddled about on Lake Calhoun in my canoe on the Day of Atonement, sharng our thoughts. Farewell, dear old friend.

Deborah, Judith and Naomi-
Howard (and Joyce) made an extraordinary impression on me. He possessed a gentle humor and generous spirit that was striking upon meeting and that continued to grow over time. Both of your parents are remembered fondly and it was an honor to have met them.

I have a lovely memory of an evening of kitchen cleanup with Howard (as Deborah usually referred to him instead of Dad) after Concentus left to perform their concert. He was a tower of kindness, intelligence, and class. My deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.

Howard was an intimate part of our family circle. I feel lucky to have known him and to have been welcomed so warmly by him all of my life. I am sorry I won't get to see his genuine smile again. He had a real influence on my life.
