Howard Kromm Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 3 to Feb. 6, 2010.
KROMM , Howard May 20, 1924 - February 1, 2010 Howard Kromm passed away peacefully on February 1, 2010 at the age of 85 years. He will be missed by his loving wife of forty-six years, Seija Kromm; his three daughters, Helen Kromm (Brad Noble), Anne Kromm, and Seija Kromm; and his two grandsons, Adam Kromm and Gideon Seeseequon. Howard was born in Calgary on May 20, 1924 and lived his whole life in the city he loved. He began working for the Canadian Pacific Railway after high school and continued with them during the war. The oil industry beckoned, he changed careers to become a geological technician and retired from Voyager Energy in 1991. Howard was an active man who enjoyed sports. He was an avid hunter and trained field trial award winning black Labrador Retrievers. He loved animals of all kinds and instilled this love in his children and grandchildren. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife travelling across Canada and Europe, walking his dog along pathways close to the local golf courses, and engaging in lively conversations with everyone he met. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put the needs of his family above his own. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the caring staff at Carewest George Boyack. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Crescent Road Chapel (202 Crescent Road N.W.) on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., with Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca . Arrangements are in care of PIERSON'S FUNERAL SERVICE. Telephone: 403-235-3602.

Howard

God looked down on your body,So tired from hanging on,From a life that was overwhelming you,And wanted back his son.So he took away the air you breathe,And gave you what was best,A place to be at peace,A final place to rest.

Condolences to Howard's family. We were in the class of '42 (not many of us remaining). Our paths crossed again at the old CPR station in '46 upon my return from overseas. Happy landing Howard.

My most sincere condolences to the Kromm family.
Howard and I were Home Teaching partners back in the 1970s and he made a lasting impression on me, I have cherished the visits we made and have often thought of those days and of Howard.
May you be comforted by the knowledge of gospel principles that go beyond the veil of this mortal life.

I am so sorry to hear of your dads passing, seeing this brought back alot of memories from Renfrew. The most memorable was of chicky chicky chumbo and his walks...lol. My deepest sympathies to you and the rest of the family.
