Howard SINGER Obituary
December 25, 1935 - February 17, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Howard Singer at the age of 77 years. Howard will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Lois of 43 years, and their children; daughter Shelley (Kent) Sadownyk; son Dwayne (Marla) Singer; and grandchildren Cole, Jenny, Lucas, Julia and Jada. He will be missed by siblings Arvon (Lois) Singer, Darlene (Ed) Gamble, Judy (Dennis) Palynchuk and Roy (Cheryl) Singer along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. His parents Henry and Florence Singer, and his sister Ardyth predeceased him.
Throughout his 35-year career at CN Railway and into his retirement, Howard was devoted to his family, his community and the sport of softball. His passion for playing the sport through to coaching it earned him the Governor General Medal for excellence in volunteer work and he was inducted as a Sport Builder into the Alberta Sport Hall of Fame.
The Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Sturgeon Community Hospital for their compassion, care and support.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at North Point Community Church, 14025 - 167 Avenue, Edmonton. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Howard Singer's name be made to Softball Alberta.

Howard was a great man I work with him in the west and east tower at cnr he was the operations coordinator at that time he treated people fairly and work hard all the time. Just a very good man.

Dwayne and Family
I had tremendous respect for Howard. We had lots of fastball talks about the game, where it was going and where it had came from. He truly loved the game and the people in it.
Many, many good memories of him. Our deepest condolences Dwayne.

Dwayne and family - my sincere condolences.
Howie influenced many of our lives and he was the catalyst behind many of my fondest memories. He brought groups of young men together with a common interest, out of which, many great friendships and lifelong memories were created. Thanks Howie!
