I got to know Hugh when our daughters played softball together. Got to know him over a few lunches. I found him to be a kind, gentle man. RIP High Carter.

Hugh Carter was a gentleman and a very kind person. One of his many contributions to the success of his second cousin´s 1976 presidential election was co-chairing Target 20, an early insight of Hamilton Jordan´s master plan for Carter´s presidential run. Target 20 referred to the plan for Carter to qualify first among all potential candidates for matching federal campaign funds by raising $5,000 in each of 20 states. Several of us worked on this project with Hugh and the Carter campaign showed that it was not simply a local or regional campaign by being the first potential candidate to qualify in 20 states, with $5,000 raised in each, for the matching federal money. Hugh was especially proud of his success in running Darby Printing for many years. He was a gift and a rock to his friends and family. Hugh will be missed.

He was both the BEST and without doubt one of the kindest bosses I ever had. He always "had your back". I am so sad to hear of his death.
