I was so sad to learn today that Hugh is no longer with us. His passion to share knowledge and love of native plants was an inspiration to us. Jill Taylor (Stanley Park Ecology Society volunteer).

He was a wonderful friend, loved seeing him and hearing his inspiring stories in our water aerobic classes, will think of Hugh every time I eat raspberries! I miss his warm heart, insatiable curiousity, kindness , friendliness and optimism.

Marian and family- I am sorry to hear that Hugh's life has come to its end. Like many in the raspberry industry around the world, I am indebted to his work, his dedication and generosity of spirit. It has been a privilege to have met and be inspired by him.

Marian and Family: every time we will be in teh fields, we will be reminded of his expertise and contribution to an ever expanding berry industry. I worked with Hugh for over 30 years, hiked with him, celebrated milestones with him and even on his last birthday exchanged a few emails with him. His knowledge and contributions will live on, Elisabeth and Tom B.
