Please accept my heartfelt condolences to the Duffy family on Hugh's passing. I grew up feeling like the Duffys, Morans, Redmonds and Canavans were more like cousins than friends. My fondest summer memories are of Pinehurst Beach, the Community House and renting cottages to be near my mother's dearest friends Jean, Theresa, Gerry and Mary. Your dad was a hard-working, caring and loving man and he will be missed by many.

I think Paula, Bob, Richard and Jeannie speak for most of us that got to grow up at Pinehurst during those years. The inner Woodlawn circle with the Redmond´s , Moran´s, Duffys, such great families and parents! The Bolls and Napolitano´s! The Grants, O´Mara´s CLeary´s, Carey´s, Foleys, Wentworths, Carroll´s Lynch´s and so many great families making life idealic for their children. Long summer days surrounded by loving parents that looked out for and shaped all of us, not just there own! None better than Mr. And Mrs Duffy! Yes as Paula said well done and thank you. What a wonderful family Hugh and Jeanne created and in doing so helped to create countless memories for the rest of us to hold dear. Our family - I believe - was one of the early settlers when my mother´s father purchased the property in 1929. My mother grew up there first and then we had our time there. For me, it was all too short as we were perhaps the first to leave in 1968. Now it has been 55 years since the Carey family hung out with you all - the "gang"- except for the recent and terrific reunion.
We have never and will never forget our summers there and all the families like the Duffys, Morans, Redmonds, and so many more that gave us those fun times.
My sisters and I offer our sincerest condolences and hope the entire Duffy family finds solace in the many great memories that they each have of their dad (and their mom) and all the good times - especially in Pinehurst. God Bless.

To the Duffy family, Heartfelt condolences to you all on the death of your father.
He was surely an inspiration in courage as a fire-fighter and steadfast "family man" who along with your mother, bestowed honorable values of how to live "the good life" to you all. I will surely miss the pleasure of making creamed onions for him on holidays and will have a tree planted in his honor. Well done, Mr. Duffy; I know that your good spirit now rests in eternal peace and love with your wife and in the arms of our divine creator. With heartfelt condolences to the Duffy Family, Paula Darois Verlicco

My condolences to the Duffy family in this time of loss. Hugh Duffy was a man I knew all my life. I have great memories of him at our cottages during Summers at Pinehurst Beach. Jeanne and Hugh spent many nights singing on our patio with my parents, Frank and Mary Redmond. Along with Paul and Theresa Moran and many others. Hugh was always jovial and funny. He and my Dad would pile all of the kids in the old station wagons and patiently bring us to Lincoln Park every Summer. Tricia and I loved swimming and wanted to go to the raft so badly. Hugh and my Dad would be piggy back Trisha and I out there. It was a thrill we´d never forget. May Hugh Rest In Peace now. He lived a great life as a loving husband, Dad and Granddad. I´ve always respected his career as a Fire Chief. It´s a career for only the noble and brave. God bless Hugh. May he Rest In in Eternal Peace with Jeanne. And may memories and faith comfort all of his loved ones at this time.
