To the family of Hugh,
I am sure Hugh and Dennis(aka the Schmitter)are enjoying the sandwich in heaven now. My sympathies to all.

What a wonderful family and footprint he leaves in Chestnut Hill. McNally's? That is where my visiting brothers and sister met me when our Mom died nearly fiifteen years ago. A Schmitter, a beer and family, friends in Chestnut Hill. Now, THAT is what I call home. Thanks for the memories and my sympathy to the family.

A man who touched the world with his love and generosity. May his spirit live on in all who were fortunate enough to be in his life.

A great human being with a warm and caring heart and soul has departed, but the memories shall never fade. Your loss is huge, and I can only share your pain. Remember the ones we love never go away. They are always by our side, even on days when you miss them the most. May the memories bring joy to your heart and a smile on your face. Stay strong as only time can heal.

With the passing of Hugh McNally a truly unique neighborhood has lost one of its treasures. As a tavern owner and host he was unsurpassed. Over the years children were thrilled and delighted when he visited the Water Tower Summer Camp to tell stories and make ice cream. A chance meeting with him on the Avenue, with his smile and a hello brightened many a day. The extended McNally Family should take solace in the fact of Hugh's well lived life and the many, many, thoughts and prayers being sent their way...
