Hugh Pyper Obituary
Hugh A. Pyper, 79, of Rockford passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. Born July 3, 1936, in Dixon to Hubert and Naomi (Crull) Pyper. Veteran of the US Navy from 1956-1958. Married Sandra Kant on April 22, 1972, in Rockton. Hugh enjoyed boating and spending time with his family. Survivors include wife, Sandra Pyper; children, Steve (Cheri) Pyper, Cindi (Rich) Runte, Jeff (Cristina) Pyper, Duane (Natalie) Kant, Aaron (Wendy) Kant; grandchildren, Amber, Kyle (Jennifer), Mallory (Clay), Elizabeth, Nathan, Ana, Callie, Drew, Brock, McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Connor, Lily, and a baby girl in May; sister, Sue Pyper-Gustafson; and brother, Jerry Pyper. Predeceased by parents; and stepfather, Walter Lambke.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, in Rockford First Chapel, 5770 Spring Creek Road, with Pastor Bob Taylor and Pastor Ken Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.until time of service Saturday in the church. Memorials may be given for missionaries Chad and Wendy Owens or to OSF St. Anthony Hospice.
