We always looked forward to seeing Hugh. He had such an engaging smile and a youthful, exuberant energy. He was always so positive, even in the face of adversity. We will miss him very much.

My sincere heartfelt condolences on the loss of a Great Man! Hugh and I went to school and graduated together in 1986. He went to college, I departed for the Army. During our school years, he had no enemies, it didn't matter what click you were with, he always made time for you, which is a true example of his Character! We lost touch after school, during the 10yr reunion, or our recent 30yr Reunion, he hasn't changed a bit, as I walked jn, that Genuine Smile brightened up the entire room! My thoughts and prayers are with the Talbert family, and I pray God will grant him Ever Eternal Life and provide comfort to his family knowing he is home with his Lord and savior!

Hugh and I reconnected recently, and were playing tennis again like in High School. In the 3rd grade I was impressed with his drawing of an airplane, and I have been impressed with him ever since. I think for some of the more special people I've ever met I can always recall the very first time I met them, this is definitely true with Hugh.

Having grown up with the Talberts as somewhat part of our extended family through church, I know where Hugh is today because I know what is in his heart! Even so, I wish that your family did not have to go through this. I am praying for you each day until we see him again.

Angela and family, Lois and I are not known to you, but we know Hugh and Sue from First Baptist Church Alabaster and we send you and them our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your husband. Our prayers have and will continue to be with you and your family. We are thankful to know that you and Hugh III are believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and that, as the Apostle Paul wrote, "We sorrow not as others (who don't know Christ as Savior)" because we know that to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord---which is far better."

I have worked closely with Hugh for almost 9 years, as our offices are a few doors a part. I will miss our morning conversations over coffee (normally about woodworking). I sought advice from Hugh regularly. I'm glad he trusted Jesus for his salvation and has been eternally healed. He will be missed by many and remembered often. Great man.

I got to know Hugh over the last year as I am a new coworker with Hugh. He was always very helpful no matter what I needed even if it was a good joke to make my day better. Hugh was a really good guy and I will strive to follow his example of how to be a great man.We often talked about our oldest daughters as both go to the University of Alabama and both study Anthropology. He always spoke very well about her and the rest of his Family. You could tell he really loved them. Finally, it may seem trivial, but we bought some of "Hugh's Honey" from his beekeeping activities and are still using it to this day. Thank you.

Hugh will be missed so much. Such a great guy. We cherish the time we spent in Hugh's small group at Westwood Baptist. He was an excellent teacher. The last of our lessons was the book of Revelations. We talked about what Heaven would be like and there is no doubt that he is there now.
