Dorothea R. Sawenko HAMILTON - Dorothea R. "Dottie" Sawenko, 87, passed away into God's loving arms Thursday. Born in Germany, Mrs. Sawenko was a Hamilton area resident for 55 years. She retired as a nursing assistant at St. Francis Medical Center after 40 years of service and was a volunteer for the Mercer County Nutrition Project and their Autumn Club. She enjoyed reading, bingo, playing dominoes and cards. Most of her joy came from spending time with her six great-grandchildren Predeceased by her husband Kussma Sawenko, and her daughter and son-in-law Barbara Maria and Barry R. Armitage, Mrs. Sawenko is survived by two granddaughters, Maria L. Hollo and her husband Douglas, and Donna M. Eldridge and her husband Steven, all of Hamilton Square; six great-grandchildren, Barry, Anthony and Douglas Hollo, and Wayne, Megan and Nicholas Eldridge; and other relatives in Germany. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton. Family and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Home.
