Hume Cronyn

I met Hume and Jess many years ago on the metro north train coming in from New York City grand Central Station I sat next to them and they were very pleasant Jessica was reading a book .I was talking and she said in a polite way do you mind young man I’m trying to get through this read. Hume turned to Jessica and said Jess he’s an actor and Jessica said
act and be quite.
I laughed and so did they.

Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. Godspeed.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Hume Cronym. He was such a wonderful actor! My favorite movie is To Dance With The White Dog.

Hume Cronyn was an excellent actor, along with his wife, Jessica Tandy. Who didn't love the movie "Batteries Not Included". They were excellent together in the movies and again they are today in Heaven. My condolences to the family. You will always have wonderful memories that will live in your hearts forever.

I have great memories of seeing Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy in Foxfire on the Guthrie stage in the 1980's when I was a college student studying theater. What great actors to watch and learn from! My condolences.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Hume Cronyn. He was a great actor and so was his wife, the late Jessica Tandy, a great actress. They are now together as they were in "To Dance with the White Dog." A romantic old-fashion movie. But, what a terrific movie, a real tear jerker.

My condolences to the family of Mr. Cronyn. May he rest in peace.

What a great loss to the entertainment world. My favorite movie of Hume's was "Cocoon" with Jessica Tandy. What a wonderful couple they were.

My heart grieves with your family. Mr. Cronyn was an exception to life itself. He gave us all joy, hope, inspiration and laughter! He was always a great actor,but never better than with Jessica Tandy. I bet they give Heaven a glow it hasn't had in some time. His memory and movies will live in all our hearts forever. May the memories you cherish with him comfort your hearts at this time of need.

hume cronyn was a fine screen and television actor. i remember him in a memorable episode of hawaii five-o displaying his exceptional talent. my condolences to his family. he will be missed.

What a loss...what a talent....remember first seeing him in Conrack with Jon Voight...and then many other movies after that...

He and Jessica really were the beautiful gloves that fit on priceless hands....

The first movie I saw with Hume Cronyn was "Batteries Not Included" I was hooked. Before then I was never interested in movies with older actors. I never missed any of his movies after that. While he will be missed I'm thankful for his contributions as a great actor.

What a wonderful actor. My first memory of him is in a movie with Henry Fonda, Kirk Douglas and Burgess Meredith called "There Was a Crooked Man." Although not a well known movie, Hume did a great job as one of the prisoners who like to draw dirty pictures and sell them to his fellow inmates.



After Ms. Tandy passed, it was hard seeing the two not together. Now they are...

Thank you for being an enjoyment in everyone's life as an actor that made everyone's personal lives better as soon as he smiled (at least that's the way I felt) I guess he just had a special gift and I thank him for sharing it so we could all remember the people he portrayed. Thanks for the memories.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was an incredible actor. "To Dance with the White Dog" was such a terrific movie and a great tear jerker. I fell in love with both him and Jessica Tandy. I would cry through the whole movie. I also watched it EVER time it came on. I feel a relief that he is now with Jessica in a better place. Please except my sympathies.
