I am so saddened to hear of Ian´s passing. One of my favorite students because of the honest, genuine, empathetic young man he was. He has surely left this legacy and so much more. He and is whole wonderful family will be a forever part of my prayer and he will always hold a very special part in my heart. This world has lost an outstanding person.

God bless all of you who have had the blessing to have known Ian in big and small ways.

I pray for peace for your family, I know you all may know but he was truly an amazing human being. I would not have my husband if it wasn´t for him and his team on God´s side.

Ian was a great, kind, and humble man. He was an outstanding surgeon who left an important and lasting footprint in the world of burn surgery. He was a tenacious and dedicated servant to his patients. He settled for nothing less than what was right, honest, true and best for the patient. He was a great mentor, true friend and example to many who can now seek to honor him by upholding his high standards of compassion, service, commitment to excellence, dignity, and decency. We have lost him too soon and will always remember him with a sense of honor and gratitude. His light will shine on by his example.

Ian represented the very best of military medicine. He was committed to the mission, his country, his family, and his patients. During our time together at the Army Burn Center, Ian always strived to provide the very best care possible to his patients despite the severity of their injuries. He never backed down and fought to the very end for his patients. I truly admire his tenacity and will always remember this about him. God bless him and his family.

Dr. Ian Driscoll's contributions to military medicine and surgery were numerous and lasting. His actions as a compassionate and gifted surgeon touched the lives of literally thousands of seriously ill and injured patients. He served his country in uniform during a time when the number of combat casualties required the expert knowledge and skilled hands that Ian possessed. For more than a decade, Ian cared for many of the most severely wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan, both at Walter Reed and BAMC and the Burn Center. To say that Dr. Driscoll was fully committed to his art and practice would be an understatement. He often cited his physician father's example as a model for his professional approach to patient care. It was a great honor for me to be able to serve with Dr. Driscoll and to watch him continue his trajectory of excellence as he transitioned from military service. In every conversation I was blessed to have with Ian over the years it was clear that Jodi, and later Bridget, were his greatest love and their presence gave him strength, as did his unceasing faith. Dr. Driscoll will be dearly missed and his legacy as the consummate surgeon will most surely endure through all those taught and mentored.

Jodi and Bridget I am so sorry for the death of Dr. Driscoll. He was a great surgeon and a very good friend. My husband was his patient from 2018 through 2019. He treated him for 3rd and 4th degree burns and did an excellent job. I will always be thankful for the support he gave me after the death of my husband to cancer. I will always have a special place in my heart for Bridget. Through Dr. Driscoll I have been able to see her grow up. Jodi I will have you and Bridget and the family in my prayers and in my heart.
