In Loving Memory of Ian Robert Galloway

8th July 1966 - 6th June 2025

Ian was born on July 8, 1966, in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe). His childhood was filled with the wonder and adventure of the Southern African wilderness-camping safaris, untamed landscapes, and close encounters with nature which shaped his lifelong passion for exploration and zest for life.

Ian began his education at Peterhouse, a prestigious boarding school in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, where he thrived both academically and socially. Following the political unrest in Rhodesia and the country's transition to Zimbabwe, Ian and his family immigrated to Sydney, Australia in the mid-1980s. In Sydney, Ian completed his schooling and soon began what would become a highly successful career in the insurance industry. His raw talent, incredible charm and ambition soon took him across the world.

It was in Sydney that Ian met his first wife, Bonnie. Though he had already set plans in motion to backpack around the world with his younger sister Helen, fate had its own course. Ian and Bonnie later reconnected in London (where he had settled), and they married soon after. A new opportunity led them to New York, where Ian continued to advance his career. Together, Ian and Bonnie had three beautiful children-Ryan, Brianna, and Siobhan, whom he adored and remained deeply proud of.

After 20 years in New York Ian relocated to Oklahoma, where he met and married his wife Angela. Together, they shared a life of love, travel, and serenity, spending many of their happiest moments aboard their yacht, exploring the open waters side by side, Ian often seen enjoying a glass or two of merlot. It was here in Oklahoma that Ian finally felt settled.

Ian's life was defined by adventure, resilience, and a deep and uncompromising love for his family. He was well respected by colleagues, friends, and family alike, and everyone who knew him felt honoured to be part of his journey. His generous spirit, love of life, and unwavering curiosity about the world left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

Ian is survived by his beloved wife Angela, his children Ryan, Brianna, and Siobhan, his sister Helen, and many extended family members and friends across the globe.

Ian is a founding member of the North American Contingency Association (NACA) that continues to grow and is now the preeminent entertainment association.

I only had the privilege of knowing Ian for a few years. He was always kind and giving. I am deeply saddened by his passing. All my love goes to his lovely wife Angela.

I remember the great camping trip with you , Bonnie , Helen and the kids! We all had a blast ! Despite a few mishaps like Ryan getting tangled in the dog chain and nearly falling into the campfire you remained steady and calm and didn´t get shook! You were great with the kids !
