DRANFIELD, Pauline (nee Paula Jahn) 14 April 1910 Nuremberg, Germany to Alma and Rudolph Jahn. Passed away peacefully at Glenwarren Lodge, Victoria, BC on 17 January 2008. She was raised in Germany and educated in England. Married LCDR (S) Herbert F. Dranfield RN, 2 September 1949 in Westminster, London England. They emigrated to Canada and she became a Canadian citizen 4 February 1958. Pauline gave 21 years of loyal and devoted service to the BC Government Dept. Lands, Forests and Water Resources from 1953 to 1975 when she retired. Her husband predeceased her on 16 June 1968. She was also predeceased by her brother Rudolph and sisters Claire and Emma (Niedermeyer). She traveled extensively after retirement but always returned to Victoria. Special thanks to the staff of Glenwarren Lodge, where she spent the last years of her life, for their kind care and attention. According to her wishes she has been cremated and ashes scattered as was her husband. A service or remembrance will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2815 Cedar Hill Rd. at 2 pm on Tuesday 12th February 2008 with reception to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or to a charity of you choice. Condolences can be sent to www.firstmemorialfuneral.com Saanich link. 443090

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
