Ian Jones Obituary
Ian was born in Painesville to Tonya Jones and Antonio Carranza. He is a 2010 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School, where he soared as a wrestler. He was a two-time State qualifier. He was awarded proclamation by the City of Painesville for his wrestling. He also earned MVP all four years for track. He was a four-year letterman for wrestling, track, and football. Ian carried his love for wrestling at Apprentice School in Newport News, he was a four-year U.S. Collegiate Athletic associated All-American in Apprentice School Heavyweight and set a school record with 156 victories, including 68 by pins. In 2014-2015, Ian was named the Apprentice School Athlete of the Year. He was also 2nd in the nation for wrestling. Ian earned an Associates Degree from the Apprentice School, Newport News, Va. in 2015.
Ian initiated a career as a Navel Contractor. Ian brought his talents back to Columbus, Ohio in 2016 as Health and Safety Coordinator for Wolfrum Roofing and Exteriors.
Ian devoted his life to his family and friends. Ian was a Grandma's Boy. Ian enjoyed his gym time, bowling, and cooking.
Ian accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, he united with Union Community Church of Painesville, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Nadia; his children, Aiden, Gavin, and Isabella; stepchildren, Idell, Imaje, and KJ, all of Columbus; his loving parents, Tonya Jones of Hampton, Va. and Antonio (Ofelia) Carranza of San Diego, Ca.; sisters, Hydia Jones of Hampton, Va., and Yasmine Carranza of San Diego, Ca.; brothers, Romero and Ramone (Naeemah) Jones, both of Hampton, Va., Christopher Harper of New York, NY, and Saul Carranza of San Diego, Ca.; his beloved grandmother, Patricia (Chris) Thompson, and grandfather, Edward (Karen) Grant, both of Painesville; his nephew, Ramone Jr. of Hampton, Va.; and many aunts and uncles; cousins; and a host of other family members.
We love you, Baby, God loved you best. Sleep on, our sweet Ian, God has given you eternal rest.
