I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I did not know Ian very well but did have the opportunity to talk basketball with him a number of times when I was a young official working games that Howard or Doug were involved in or when I student taught and coached at Killarney in 1979-80. He had such an engaging personality and was always willing to talk basketball.

I have known Mr and Mrs Kelsey and family since the early 70s.
I worked at a service station close to
the family home and in 1988 I started my own mobile auto repair buisness where it was a pleasure to do auto repairs at their home.Afterwords we would have a visit and enjoy fresh home made cookies and refreshments that
Mrs Kelsy had just made.
Mr Kelsey had mechanical knowledge and it was always a pleasure talking with him as he was able to describe the problems the vehicles were having.
Both were a big help with advise for me
as I was a single parent bringing up my daughter since she was 5.
Thank you and condolences to the Kelsey family

My heartfelt condolences to the Kelsey family. I did not know Ian well, but he always had a warm, genuine smile and a strong, sincere handshake. I can see from his biography that he expressed these same qualities, In the few greetings I had with him, to many others and in many ways. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I played basketball for Mr. Kelsey 1976-1978 when he coached the Killarney High School Senior Girls basketball team. He was the kindest man I'd ever met. He had a way of motivating us, pushing us to play to our limits, always providing positive affirmations for our efforts. I am sure all the girls I played with will agree when I say we just wanted to do our very best for him to see that gentle smile come across his face with our successes. Having him as a coach was a great experiences in my life I will never forget and be forever grateful. Diana Zaleski (nee Bakewell) Kelowna, BC

I was inspired by our conversations regarding family, education, and relationships! An outstanding Educator, Leader, and Friend! I will always remember his contributions as a Coach and his love for all members of the Kelsey Family.

I worked with Ian for some years in the Christian Science church where he enjoyed a fully rewarding membership. At one point I was asked to serve as Second Reader in the church while he was First Reader. I viewed this request with some trepidation as Ian was known to hold some strong views that didn't always coincide with mine. However, I found him to be a perfect gentleman, supportive and respectful and it turned out to be a great experience. I thank him deeply for it. He also gave me encouragement when I faced some hard personal challenges and never judged me as I worked my way out of a bad situation. He was kind. Ian, I wish you joy along your new travels. To your family, please know how much Ian is loved, remembered and appreciated.
