Recently visited Midnight Cove and was happy to see the bench dedicated to Ian near the beach. He was really loved by the folks there!

It's hard to believe a year has passed without Ian in the world. All the memories here speak to the loving and caring person he was - in the McEachern and Carpenter clan, and in his world of so many friends. Gone from this Earth, but never from from All of our thoughts

Worked for Ian for several summers at the legendary 'Home Painting Company', knew him long before that (but not well) and after as golf buddies. Never a dull moment with Ian MC, the world seemed a bit dimmer this year, now I know why. Catch you for 18 on the other side...

I am at a loss for words and there is a hole in my heart. Ian was one of the main reasons we continued to stay at Midnight Cove! He became such an important part of our family´s Siesta Key memories! From long talks on the beach under his special coconut decorated "pirate" umbrella, buried treasure hunts with maps for my grandsons, and finally to my daughter´s wedding on Siesta Beach. A truly wonderful man! We miss you and will hold our memories of you and your wisdom and smile forever. Hoping you have found the ultimate peace that eluded you here!

One summer when I was 9 or 10 Ian set up a treasure hunt for me and my brother. He gave us a sword that I have kept till this day. We met him at midnight cove and always looked forward to seeing him. We will miss you dearly Ian.

We met Ian at Midnight Cove and always looked forward to seeing him every year. Later, we´d look forward to a warm greeting from him at Owen´s Fish Camp. A genuinely wam and kind guy with a ready grin, he will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss.

Very sorry to hear of Ian's passing. He was such a wonderful guy. Met him at Midnight Cove and he was always so pleasant and helpful. No one has been able to do justice to that position like Ian. Great Man. Although I do not know any of his family, my heart goes out to you. He will be missed.

Thank you for coming into my life, moving me to Sarasota, and being the catalyst to my dreams. Just thought we'd be living them out together. Nike keeps looking at the door for you. :(
This picture is from a restaurant in Galveston. He said I want to take you to the place where your dad courted your mom. So we went to Gaidos. Thank you for amazing memories my luv.

My deepest sympathies to Ian´s family and all of his friends. It makes me so sad to know that he is not here on this earth anymore to put a smile on everyone´s face. He was a genuinely good guy with a huge heart. Our family was blessed to have known him. Ian, you are, and will continue to be, truly missed. You were a great guy to our Jordan. You taught our son so many life lessons and we will forever be thankful for that. Until we meet again...Katie

We had the pleasure to get to know him when he worked our beach at Midnight Cove and his presence has been missed since the day he left. He was loved by all. May he Rest In Peace!!

I, Suzanne, and my family including Jill, Pete, Mia and Sam are all so sorry to learn of Ian´s passing. He was a favorite "Cousin" at the Lake, in fact my husband Jay´s first cousin (Jay now deceased). We all knew Ian to be kind, generous and fun to be with. We haven´t seen him in quite a while but we do know the world was a better place with Ian here, and we will truly miss him.

All the Darcy family is sad to hear about Ian. While distant is years and logistics, we always felt a strong kinship with the McEacherns from our high school days-and beyond- in Fairfield. Our best to all of you.
