Ian SCOTT-BROWN

I met Dr. Brown when I started at the TBCC in 1981 while working in the RT department. Over the years I have met many doctors, but I can honestly say that Dr. Brown's care, compassion & consideration for both patients and staff was outstanding. One particular time I will always remember was when my own father was in emergency with what was eventually diagnosed as a TIA. Dr. Brown volunteered to go over to emergency to read my dad's CT scan. I will always remember and appreciate that act of kindness. I offer my sincere condolence to the family at this sad time. He was loved and will be missed.

Yesterday's memorial service was perfect: short on pomp and ceremony, long on warmth, gentleness and respect: just like the man. I know Uncle Ian would have approved. He was, and will always be, the model to me of what a perfect gentleman should be. I can still hear him talking to me right now, in his gentle voice. I'm sure I'll be able to hear him talking to me the rest of my life.

It was an honour to have known and loved him. Rest in peace, Uncle Ian.

I have always considered Ian to be one of the best people I have ever known.We will always be thankful to both Ian and Joan for the great care and generosity they showed when we first moved to Calgary. As the years have passed they have remained close friends in spite of the distance separating us and too infrequent meetings. I looked forward every year to receiving Ian's handwritten Christmas card summary of the past years events in their family. Mary and I are deeply saddened by this news and send out deepest sympathies to Joan, Myles, Nigel, Kathryn, Julian and their families. Goodbye to our dear friend Ian.

I met Uncle Ian when I was 15. It's been decades since he's been in my life but I recall he was always kind. The generosity of spirit shown to me by Uncle Ian and Auntie Joan has influenced my life.
May he rest in peace. Deepest condolences to the Scott-Brown family and all who knew and loved him.

I first met him several years ago and, even though we saw each other only a few times each year when we could visit in Calgary, he always had such kind and compassionate words to share. We saw him just a few months ago where he and Auntie Joan showed such delight in meeting our 2 month old son. Christopher and I are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and our sincere condolences go out to the entire family.

Sharon and I are very sad that Uncle Ian has died. To me, his last few years were ones of quiet uncomplaining strength and resolve; a testament of how he lived his life. Since my father's death almost 40 years ago, he has always been there for we Fungs and, along with Auntie Joan, such strong and loving supporters of Mom. He was very loved by us all. More than he knew, he left an imprint on my life, my career and my family. He will always live on in our hearts. Our heartfelt condolences to Auntie Joan, Miles, Nigel, Kathryn and Julian and the rest of the Scott-Brown clan.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.
