To Helgi and family: Please accept my sincere sympathies for your loss of Ian. He was a good man and a sincere friend of the environment, specially around LacBrome. He will be missed.

I have very fond memories of our collaboration together at The Study. He made a great difference. And I loved teaching and knowing Annabel. My husband, Joe and I send our most sincere sympathy to Ian's family on their loss.

My sincerest condolences to his family. He was such a supporter of The Study community. It is an honour to have known him.

Ian was a special mining engineering graduate.l recall he worked one summer at Quemont gold mine at Noranda Qc.when,one day the power we nt off we deep underground, Ian decided,at the shaft to climb the ladders for half a mile vertically so as not to miss his date that night.Ian said later,"now I can do anything"

He will always be my role model for grace, generosity, and professionalism. I will sadly miss him.
