Ida Deanda Barrera went to be with her Lord on February 10, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Ida was born in Colorado City, Texas, to Francisco Deanda and Paula Mora. She was raised in San Angelo, Texas, but relocated with her family to Ben Bolt, Texas, in 1957, and from there resided in Alice, Texas in 1967 which was her home for many years before living her remaining years in Mesquite with her family.
Ida was a registered nurse in Alice, Texas for 35 years and she retired doing what she loved to do.
Her family would describe her as a beautiful, loving, strong and caring woman whom had a magnificent heart and was one of a kind.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents Paula Lujan Mora Deanda and Francisco Deanda; brothers Ray Deanda and Luis Deanda; her daughter Lydia Medina, and son Trene Medina Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Pyles and husband David, of Mesquite, Texas; her sister Juanita Deanda of San Angelo, Texas; her brothers Andres Deanda and wife Olga, of Lubbock, Texas, Margarito Deanda of San Angelo, Texas, John Deanda and wife Josie of San Angelo, Texas, Fred Deanda and wife Lupe of San Angelo, Texas, and David Deanda and wife Nelly of San Angelo, Texas; brother Henry Deanda and wife Lola of San Angelo, Texas; grandsons Rick Cuellar of Elgin, Texas, Juan R. Gonzalez of Austin, Texas, Paul Medina, Jerry Medina, and Andres Medina; granddaughters Patricia Ann Medina of Austin, Texas, and Elizabeth Guerra of Carrollton, Texas; step-son Edward Barrera of Ben Bolt, Texas; and step-daughter Carmen Perez of Alice, Texas, along with twelve great grandchildren, Isabella Cuellar, Noah Cuellar, Elijah Cuellar, Maria Sanchez, Raul Vela III, Vanessa Saathoff, Jennifer Barba, Erica Gonzalez, Danniel Gonzalez, Michelle Gonzalez, Marisa Medina and Theresa Medina; and ten great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary service from 6:00 pm to 7:00pm.
