   It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ida Best (nee Fontaine) on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Beausejour Hospital with her family by her side at the age of 75 years.
   Left to cherish Ida’s memory are her three children, Patrick (Rachel), Patricia (Don), Gerald (Sue); four grandchildren, Noel Fuchs, Quinton Baylak, Ryan and Danicka Fuchs; great granddaughter, Paisley Fuchs; brothers, Gilbert (Emma), Maurice, Omer (Hélène), Archie (Nancy) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her one sister Edna (Gérald Lemoine) in 1976; father Amédée Fontaine in 1986; and mother Antoinette Fontaine in 2010.
   Mom was born on September 25, 1942 in St. Pierre-Jolys, MB. She was a hairdresser from 1957 to 1986. She had her own business called Ida’s Beauty Salon in St. Pierre-Jolys. In 1986 Mom moved to Beausejour where she kept on hairdressing until 2017. She was well known as “the hairdresser on wheels” running from one senior’s home to the other, as well as private homes, hospital and running shop in her own home. She also enjoyed making different kinds of crafts since a young age, such as crocheting, bead work and sewing. Mom loved home decorating and remodeling old homes. She was always fixing something.
   The family would like to thank the Beausejour Hospital for their great care of our Mom.
   Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, 448 Joubert Street, St. Pierre-Jolys, MB. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Mass.
