Ieda's Story

On June 15, 2025, Mrs. Ieda (Iverson) Allen, 39, of Winston-Salem, NC, transitioned into the fullness of Life. Ieda was the beloved wife of Mr. Daniel Allen.

She was born on November 8, 1985, in Waterbury, CT, to her parents Yvette Jones and Ricky Crespo, and was lovingly raised from birth by her adoptive parents, the late Ruth (Abney) Iverson and Booker Iverson. After her mother's passing on September 24, 2000, Ieda went to live with her sister, Beverly Iverson, at the age of 12.

Ieda's love for God was ignited early in life as a member of Rehoboth Church of God in Christ in Waterbury, CT. Her learning and experience there became the foundation upon which she built her life.

She was an active member of her community at Wilby High School, where she participated in several clubs and teams. She was an author and poet, wrote for the school newspaper, and ran track and cross-country.

After graduating from Wilby in 2004, Ieda pursued her higher education and athletic goals at Southern Connecticut State University. It was there that she blossomed as a servant leader, working as a life skills coordinator for students with Asperger's and serving with the Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru). During this time, Ieda formed lifelong friendships and unbreakable family bonds. One of those bonds became a marriage that would create four brilliant and beautiful souls. She met the "amazing" (her word) Daniel Allen, and together they became an inspirational force.

Ieda earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Southern in 2010, and she and Daniel were married in 2012.

Her service and leadership extended across the globe. Ieda fed the unhoused, mentored young women, and served as a cornerstone for the Butterflies With Voices organization. She co-facilitated a financial literacy program with Daniel from their home and led an international Facebook group where she provided encouragement and support to women and mothers. Ieda also served as the director of a local homeschool co-op for her children and several families. Ieda was also a passionate content creator, using her YouTube channel to share her healing journey, spiritual insights, and lived wisdom-offering light and encouragement to others walking their own path.

Together, Ieda and Daniel brought into the world four of the most fantastic individuals on the planet: Daniel Troy Jr., Aria Grace, Geneva Faith, and Joshua Ayo Allen. This super squad became Ieda's motivation for everything she did. She committed herself deeply to her own growth and healing so she could lead effectively and embody the truth of Unconditional Love. Ieda became a real GameChanger.

In 2022, the Allen family relocated to Winston-Salem, NC.

Ieda is honored, remembered, and celebrated by her husband Daniel; their four loving children-Daniel Jr., Aria, Geneva, and Joshua; her parents Yvette Jones and Ricky Crespo; her sisters Beverly Iverson, Melody Abney, Rona Fisher, Trisha Iverson, and Christina Iverson; and her brothers Mack Abney, Bruce Iverson, and Christopher Iverson. She is also remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a worldwide collective of loving friends.

Ieda was welcomed into eternal glory by her mother Ruth Abney Iverson, her father Booker Iverson, two sisters-Renee Anderson and Carrie Abney-and one brother, Lester Smarr, all of Waterbury, CT.

"Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation."
