Ila Mae Waller

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Waller, Ila Mae, 90, retired housekeeper and caterer, died Feb. 17, 2009. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m.; service 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Elliott Mortuary; burial in Eastside Cemetery. Mrs. Waller was born Feb. 23, 1918 in Covington, Ga., daughter of the late Clifford "Bud" and Lillian Belcher Kelly. She had been a Hutchinson resident since she was three years old and graduated from Hutchinson High School. She was a member of St. John's C.M.E. Church, where she sung in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She married Charles Waller and he died in 1950. She later married Donald Vaughn and he died Jan. 18, 2005. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, McClinton, Warren, Augustus; sisters, Josephine, Ardella, Frances, Gertrude, Rena; and son, Marc A. Waller passed Jan. 14, 2009. Survivors: sons, The Honorable Gregory Waller and wife, Darla of Wichita, Stanley Waller and wife, Debbie of Hutchinson; daughter, Sandra Dawson of Hutchinson; stepdaughters, Jerry Tipton and husband, Eddie of Hutchinson, Johness Eillestie and husband, Kurt of Lyons; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
