Ina K. (Fenton) Brubaker
I cherish all the memories & wisdom I gained from this wonderful lady. She was like a second Mother to me. Bru was my 2nd cousin, but he & Ina treated Paul & I like their children. They helped us get started in life, at a time when both of our families were falling apart. Ina taught me how to love, as I watched her wait hand & foot on the love of her life, Bru. We spent many Thanksgivings together, lost every game of "Oh Hell" we played, and exchanged stock tips. Ina was a great cook & loved to entertain. She was a great counselor and always cheered me up with her witty stories.

When I called her on her birthday last November, I knew she was not well. On Nov. 10th I took 3 other Kansas cousins to see her. I knew when we kissed, it was probably my last, but I will see her & Bru again in heaven, as both knew the Lord.

I just found out she died, so I am shedding many tears as I write this. I had the obituary photo taken about 3 years ago. Her neighbor Ruth & I conspired so it was a total surprise. And what a beautiful one! Two years ago I helped her get the scholarship set up in the Grain Science Department at KSU in honor of Wendell, so their legacy lives on.
Both my husband & I know we are to pick up where Bru & Ina left off, helping & giving to others. May God receive all the glory for her life. In Him, Regina Brown

Aunt Ina, and Uncle Wendell, made a huge difference in the lives of their nephews and nieces. Ina had a gift for very direct communication. You were never in doubt for long about her thoughts. Her integrity and humor were bywords in our family. She had a big role in forming my values and perspectives. She believed in both self-reliance AND a helping hand, and that is how she lived. When she got a certain twinkle in her eye you knew it was time to listen up, because what was said next would be precious. When my partner Peter,my niece Emily, and I flew out a few years ago as a surprise for her birthday, she beat us all handily at cards, and took great delight in doing so. She is well loved and will be well remembered by her nephews and nieces.

Great-Aunt Ina loved to hear about our lives and treat us to lunch at Applebee's. She was kind and gracious, yet wasn't afraid to speak her mind. I enjoyed hearing about her most recent travels or of the times when she was a newcomer in the Brubaker family. She was a strong woman who will be missed.

Aunt Ina was a very special person to me. As a child she had tea parties with me at my grandparents home, she was always there for me and at the same time didn't hesitate to take me to task if she felt I had missed the mark. She will be remembered by my brothers and I with love.

Aunt Ina was a second Mother to me for 59 1/2 years. I loved her dearly, and will miss her so very much. She was one of a kind. She and Bru can now party with both my parents in Heaven. Love dearly, Debbie Hosner Pogue/Ada, OK.
